Erika Goos

Psychology Intern 2019-2020

Erika Goos is an intern student with Aspire Psychological Services. She is currently completing the last year of her Master of Counselling degree through City University of Seattle. Erika provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and couples within the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County area.

Erika’s background is in psychology, working predominantly with incarcerated and at-risk individuals. Erika practices from a client-centered perspective, believing that each client is unique, and the expert of their own journey. She utilizes approaches, such as narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, CBT and DBT. Erika aims to create a safe, compassionate environment for people to share their experiences, to walk alongside them on their healing journey towards a more meaningful life through self-awareness, acceptance, and discovery.

Schareen Maher

Psychology Intern 2019-2020

Schareen Maher is an intern student with Aspire Psychological Services. Schareen provides psychotherapy to children, adults, and couples within the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County area.

Schareen has had the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas. Specializing in addictions counselling for a number of years, she has had the opportunity to work with clients to support them in addressing issue of depression, trauma, suicidality, grief, and loss. She has also had the privilege of working with Indigenous peoples to support the growth of mental wellness programs for First Nations People in both rural and urban areas.

 

Schareen also has experience working with individuals who have cognitive impairments and/or mental health issues. Schareen is passionate about working with individuals to support them in regaining their sense of self and believes that healing is found in connection with others. Schareen is Master of Arts Graduate Student in her final year of study in Counselling Psychology.
