Meet
Evan Agterbos

Registered Provisional Psychologist 

​Evan provides psychotherapy to children, youths, adults, and couples within the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County, and surrounding areas.

​

Helping people navigate life's challenges and discover their own resilience is a rewarding experience and part of the reason why Evan pursued a career in psychology. Evan’s practice is founded on Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), and he also incorporates mindfulness-based strategies and principles of trauma informed care to meet the unique needs of each client.

 

Evan’s clinical background includes working with individuals facing addiction, depression, and difficulties with emotional and behavioural regulation. Much of his experience has been with forensic youth, as well as individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). Evan is also currently working as an Educational Psychologist, where he is passionate about helping youths reach their full learning potential. Whether you're seeking support for mental-health, relationship challenges, or life transitions, Evan provides a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to grow and heal.

 

Outside the therapy room, Evan is an adventurous and active person who enjoys learning about plants, reading, sports, and tackling DIY projects. He believes that balance, creativity, and curiosity are important parts of life, and strives to bring this spirit into his work with clients.
