Mélodie J. Brousseau

Registered Psychologist 

Mélodie provides psychotherapy to children, adults, and couples within the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County area.

Mélodie completed her Masters of Counselling Psychology at Athabasca University, with a focus on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Mélodie provides a client-centered approach in counselling sessions, and loves to work with clients to identify unhelpful thought processes, and develop helpful cognitions, behaviours, and strategies. Mélodie is very passionate about working with concerns related to depression, anxiety, grief, behaviours, emotional regulation, trauma, and psychoeducation.

Mélodie has previously worked with children with Autism, and more recently with individuals who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence. Mélodie loves to volunteer her time working with children, youth, and young adults.

Mélodie practices from a change-focused perspective, but believes that therapy must be developed to suit a client's needs. Mélodie has experience in a variety of therapies and modalities in order to provide a specialized service to every client. Mélodie is passionate about journeying alongside clients to reach their desired goals!

In many ways, Mélodie is a big kid at heart, which makes relating to younger clients very easy! Mélodie strives to make therapy as engaging as possible, and this sometimes includes references to comic books and most things "geeky". No matter your interests, Mélodie looks forward to meeting with you and collaborating on finding calm and happiness.
